Handbag hangers

The dilemma when out and about is what to do with your handbag. Do you sit in on the table where is takes up room? Do you place it over your chair where it risks walking? Do you place it on the floor, to get scuffed and dirty? There's a cute and efficient answer - the handbag hanger!

Your biggest dilemma will be what style and then what design.

This is the style I have been using for gifts, as it's compact and less likely to snag on something.

This is the style I own, which is easy to use, but can get caught on items or pockets in you're bag.

Tiffany's Diamond Bangles

I don't actually own anything from Tiffany's yet, but I love the classic style of their pieces. What I like most, is they come in a variety of colours, styles and sizes.

So why not start with one and add piece by piece to wear all at once!

MGB Roadster

When I was growing up I loved to go to car shows with my dad, my favourites were always the MGB Roadsters in British Racing Green. I loved them so much in fact that I had a poster on my bedroom wall through most of my teenage years.

So what do I like about them? The classic lines, the compactness that is round not boxy and the fact that you are owning a piece of history.

I still think about owning one as my weekend car, it was always my dream car when I was younger, but it’s still just a dream.

Books and their covers

I have a passion for books and reading and own an ever growing library at home. I’m that shallow that I often judge a book by it’s cover. That is I will choose a book in the library or in the bargain bin purely on what’s on the cover. Needless to say this isn’t always the best way to choose a book, but it has paid off on occasions. So what are some of those “pretty” books?

Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner (book review 3/5)

Typical chick lit, nothing more, nothing less

On Beauty by Zadie Smith (book review 3/5)

One of the 1001 books you must read before you die, kept me entertained but wasn’t so exceptional.

Sense and Sensibility

I actually haven’t read this one, classics seem to be quite hit and miss for me, and I don’t actually like the colour pink, but this seems to be one that always catches my eye

To kill a mocking bird (book review 5/5)

Ok, so it wasn’t the book cover that made me want to read this, but it is a great anniversary cover for an exceptional book. I also highly recommend the movie.

Olive's Ocean by Kevin Henkes (book review 2/5)

So occasionally you can judge a book by it's cover, but not always...

Summer Dresses

I'm a fan of the maxi dress style that's been prominent as the weather has been warming up and I found some great dresses (maxi and otherwise) at Crossroads http://www.crossroads.com.au/Home.aspx

The first is a shorter style dress that comes down to the knees, the MID LENGTH EMERALD PAISLEY BORDER DRESS, is a made from a beautiful light weight fabric that would be great for travelling (as it wouldn't crush).

The second is in the maxi style dress, and is more for a casual day at the beach or around town. The SLEEVELESS SHIRRED STRAP STRIPE MAXI DRESS doesn't necessarily look like much off the rack, but on, it flows nicely over your figure.

The third and final is another maxi style and also in a similar colour to the first (I'm just loving the vibrancy of the blue/green combination). The fabric of the LACE TRIM X OVER NECK FEATHER PRINT MAXI DRESS is once again great for travel, but you have the added sparkle from the jet beads that are sewn into the sleeves and around the bodice.

So loving summer.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Perfume

I had this on my to buy list for a few years, my parents and DH had stocked me up on Perfume and therefore I had no reason to buy it. But on a recent international trip, with perfume supplies running low it was the perfect opportunity.

It has a lovely light fragrance, with the hints of jasmine, that is particularly delightful leading into summer.

Tag Heuer Women's Watch

I brought DH a Tag Heuer watch for our wedding, and I've been eyeing off the Mini Lady Link Diamond model (WJF1417.BA0589) since.

I love the stylish design, the full diamond circle and the Tag Heuer name. While you can also get it in other colours, I prefer the simplicity of the stylish silver. I however have no need for a diamond watch. In another life perhaps?
